5 updates to know on the dental industry in California

Here are five updates for dental leaders to know about dentistry in California, as reported by Becker’s since May 5:

  1. Phoenix-based Salt Dental Partners opened SoCal Smiles Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry in Orange, Calif.
  2. Orange, Calif.-based Western Dental announced it may be forced to close up to 50 of its practice locations in California if a proposed cut to the Medi-Cal dental program advances.
  3. Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Imagen Dental Partners added two dental practices in California, partnering with NW Digital Dentistry in San Luis Obispo and the Beverly Hills, Calif., practice of Albert Silvera, DDS.
  4. Sacramento, Calif.-based Straine Dental Management acquired Regents Dental Group in San Diego.
  5. The Orange County Health Care Agency is closing its emergency dental clinic in Santa Ana, Calif., due to federal funding cuts.
