6 dental industry updates from Texas in 3 weeks

Here are six updates on the dental industry in Texas that Becker’s has reported on since Nov. 30:

1. Irving, Texas-based U.S. Oral Surgery Management added eight new partner practices across sevens states, including one in Texas.

2. Mark Oppenheim, DMD, MD, and Brad Schafer, DDS, opened Central Texas Oral Surgery and Dental Implants Georgetown.

3. Two Texas men were arrested and charged with running an illegal dental practice.

4. Dallas-based DSO Heritage Dental Group added Peak Dental to its network, which has three locations in Texas.

5. The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry opened a center for global and community oral health.

6. Dallas-based Beacon Oral Specialists added DFW Oral Surgery, located in Grand Prairie, to its network.
