6 dentistry updates in Virginia

Here are six dental industry updates that have taken place in Virginia since Nov. 15:

1. Christina Mills, DDS, a dentist in Culpepper, Va., voluntarily surrendered her dental license to practice dentistry in the state. 

2. Chicago-based National Dental Healthcare REIT, a dental real estate company, acquired 19 properties across nine states, including Virginia.

3. A Virginia court has dismissed a lawsuit challenging the state’s participation in the interstate Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact.

4. Officials from Virginia remain committed to their stance supporting water fluoridation despite national debate about the practice.

5. Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened an office in Woodbridge, Va.

6. Nashville, Tenn.-based Tend plans to open its second dental office in Arlington, Va., in February.
