Academy of General Dentistry inducts Dr. John Coleman as fellow: 4 highlights

Vista, Calif.-based cosmetic dentist John Coleman, DDS, became an Academy of General Dentistry fellow.

Here are four highlights:

1. The earn the fellowship designation, dentists must:

• Have a dental license that has never been suspended or revoked within the last five years
• Complete at least 500 hours of continuing education courses
• Pass the AGD exam, which is a four-hour, 250-question test focused on clinical application of dental knowledge, techniques and procedures

2. Only 15 percent of practicing dentists are fellows of the AGD.

3. Dr. Coleman is also a member of the American Dental Association and California Dental Association.

4. He earned his doctor of dental surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry in New York City.
