In a letter to U.S. representatives, the ADA expressed its support for the fair treatment of income that is generated by pass-through entities — a business structure in which taxes on business revenue are passed on to the owners — which some dental practices are organized as, according to a Dec. 19 news release from the ADA.
The organization also called for the increase of health savings account and flexible savings account flexibility and boosting the FSA limit to $5,000.
Passing measures that would aid those with student debt is also on the list for the ADA, as new dentists average more than $300,000 in student loan debt, the release said.
The ADA urged its members to write emails to Congress also voicing support of these proposals.
