Arkansas veteran to wait until 2019 to see VA dentist: 3 takeaways

The North Little Rock (Ark.) Veteran Affairs Medical Center is experiencing a major backup, causing one veteran to wait months until they can visit a dentist, according to Kark.com.

Here are three takeaways:

1. A 62-year-old veteran called the VA medical center to schedule an appointment for a routine cleaning. He was informed the earliest appointment was not until January 2019.

2. The North Little Rock VA Medical Center informed the patient he could undergo a dental exam prior to his cleaning appointment; however, the dental exam could not be conducted until August.

3. A spokesperson for the VA told KARK the medical center is fully staffed, and open appointments are available.
