The bill includes expanding the Community Health Center Fund, the National Health Service Corps and the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program, which will help boost and increase the dental workforce, according to a Dec. 13 news release from the American Dental Association.

The programs bring dental care to underserved communities and populations, while the National Health Service Corps provides scholarships and loan repayment programs to dental professionals.

The act also calls for increased price transparency and lower costs in the healthcare system.

The bill, which passed by a vote of 320-71, was led by Reps. Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Frank Pallone, the release said.
