The University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry is opening a multidisciplinary care center and ambulatory surgery center on its campus in San Francisco.

The 13,000-square-foot facility will have four operating rooms, eight operatories, five mixed medical and dental treatment rooms and a sensory waiting room, according to a May 4 news release from the university.

The center is expected to open in 18 months and triple patient visits.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery and hospital dentistry internships will be supported by the center.

The school’s board of regents approved $22 million for the facility, and the university recently secured a $5 million grant from the California Health Facilities Financing Authority, the release said.
