To provide the flu vaccine, dentists must complete a continuing education program developed by the California Dental Association and the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, according to an Aug. 31 news release from the CDA.
Dentists must complete an additional training program through the CDC to administer the COVID vaccine in their practice.
Areas in California that are mandating flu vaccines in dental practices include Alameda County, the city of Berkeley, Madera County, Santa Clara County, Sonoma County and Yolo County, the release said.
