Shamis & Gentile, a class action law firm specializing in data breach cases, announced that it is investigating a breach that recently took place at West Texas Oral Facial Surgery.
The Lubbock-based oral surgery practice said it experienced a network disruption May 29. An investigation determined that an unauthorized third party may have acquired certain files containing patient information. Approximately 11,151 individuals were affected.
The law firm said Aug. 7 that patients’ whose information was exposed may be eligible to join a class action lawsuit seeking compensation.
