Delta Dental of Missouri recently launched a pilot program with two Missouri dental schools to boost dental care access for uninsured and underinsured individuals, KCTV reported Sept. 22.
The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and the Kansas City University College of Dental Medicine received $25,000 grants from the insurer as part of the initiative, called Partnering for Access to Care and Training.
The pilot also includes partnerships with Saint Louis University’s Center for Advanced Dental Education and the A.T. Still University Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health.
The program pairs dental students with underserved patients, supporting clinical training for students and increasing access to care.
