Delta Dental offers temporary supplemental reimbursement to California members

Delta Dental of California sent a letter to its in-network dentists offering $10-per-visit reimbursements to offset the financial losses they are facing amid the pandemic.

The initiative, called the Return to Care Supplemental Reimbursement Program, outlines 12 codes for procedures that would qualify for the $10 credit. Delta will issue a $10 reimbursement during claim processing for all qualifying visits conducted between June 22 and Oct. 20.

The supplemental reimbursements aim to help dentists financially stay afloat, as most dental practices are incurring an extra $25-50 per visit because of increased infection control measures. Dentists are also facing financial woes because of plummeting patient volumes caused by social distancing requirements and patient anxiety surrounding virus contraction.
