According to the most recent data by the American Dental Association Health Policy Institute, educational debt varies largely by race.

The ADA Health Policy Institute used responses from the survey of dental graduates and ADA masterfile to compile this data. It includes responses where zero debt was indicated. It excludes responses over $1 million to limit skewing.

Average educational debt at graduation for 2019 graduates:

Black — $314,360

Other — $289,161

Hispanic — $286,437

White — $283,046
