Dentist migration in Texas: 6 notes

Texas had a positive net migration of new dentists from 2019 to 2022, with a net migration rate of 1.3%, according to the American Dental Association.

The ADA classified new dentists as dentists who had less than 10 years of experience in 2019 and who were still active in 2022.

Here are five additional notes:

1. There were 5,080 new dentists in Texas in 2019, and 4,538 (89.3%) remained in the state in 2022.

2. Texas had 5,147 new dentists in 2022, for a net migration of 67 new dentists. 

3. There were 609 new dentists who entered Texas between 2019 and 2022 and 542 that left. 

4. The top inbound state from which new dentists entered Texas was California, bringing in 72 new dentists. 

5. California was also the top outbound state for new Texas dentists, drawing 94 new dentists away.
