Four insights:
1. Per the agreement, Dentsply Sirona will leverage Carbon’s printers and Digital Light Synthesis technology for high-resolution output and high-throughput capacity.
2. Carbon offers an alternative to 3D printing by using light and oxygen to rapidly produce products from a pool of resin. The company combines its family of 3D printers with its software to deliver digital manufacturing solutions.
3. Dentsply Sirona specializes in computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing with its Luciton, IPN and inLab brands.
4. The Dentsply Sirona denture materials for Carbon digital manufacturing solutions are slated to be available in the U.S. later in 2019.
