A former dental office manager in Florida was sentenced to 15 years in prison for defrauding the dental practices where she worked, Business Observer reported Sept. 8.

Tiffany Denyse Young, 54, pleaded no contest earlier this year to multiple fraud charges, including scheming to defraud less than $20,000; fraudulent use of personal identification information; and obtaining codeine by fraud.

Between 2020 to 2023, Ms. Young allegedly defrauded two dental practices out of tens of thousands of dollars through several methods. One method included depositing checks meant for the practice into her personal bank account. She also allegedly used a dentist’s DEA registration number to prescribe herself controlled substances.

Ms. Young allegedly provided false information on her employment applications and was previously convicted of similar offenses.

In addition to her prison sentence, Ms. Young was given 15 years of probation.
