Former ADA trustee dies at 78

Former American Dental Association Trustee Frank Eggleston, DDS, died July 25 at the age of 78.

Dr. Eggleston was the ADA’s 15th district trustee, serving from 1999 until 2003 and serving on multiple committees. He also previously served as president of the Texas Dental Association and the Greater Houston Dental Society.

He earned his dental degree from the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas. After serving three years in the Navy, he returned to Houston, where he practiced preventive and restorative dentistry for more than 35 years.

The Texas Academy of General Dentistry named Dr. Eggleston dentist of the year in 1995. He also received the Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Dental Association in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, daughter and three grandchildren.
