Former ADA trustee dies at 94

Richard Schoessler, DDS, a former ADA trustee and past president of the International College of Dentists, died Nov. 4 at 94.

Dr. Schoessler cast the deciding vote to establish Delta Dental in South Dakota in 1963, according to a Dec. 1 news release. He was an ADA trustee from 1982-88 and was a past president of the South Dakota Dental Association and international president of the ICD. 

He earned his dental degree in 1953 and completed 35 years of military service.
