Here are five things to know:
1. The former employee claims she was forced out of Sybron Dental Specialties and KaVo Kerr Group, subsidiaries of Danaher, due to abuse from her superiors.
2. Los Angeles Superior Court ordered Sybron Dental Specialties to pay the former employee $16 million and KaVo Kerr Group $12 million in punitive damages.
3. The employee was also awarded $3 million in compensation.
4. This is one of the largest award totals in an age discrimination case.
5. During her time at Sybron Dental Specialties and KaVo Kerr Group, the woman worked as a materials buyer. The jury found she was victim to age-based harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation.
