Danielle Powers, 42, was charged with six counts of theft and five counts of embezzlement in April. She was accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from Desert Hills Dental over a five-year span. She was also accused of stealing more than $10,000 from Smile Vegas Dental in April 2021 and $3,600 from a third dental practice in November 2021.

Ms. Powers agreed May 2 to a guilty plea to two counts of embezzlement and one charge of theft. As part of the plea deal, she will serve at least one year in prison and pay restitution to all the dental practices. She will not face charges for the third dentist-related theft, and all other charges will be dismissed.

The total amount of jail time for Ms. Powers will be decided at the judge’s discretion. She is expected to formally enter her plea deal before a judge the week of May 8.
