According to the Justice Department, Ms. Letizia admitted she sent oxycodone prescriptions to pharmacies in her patients’ names and ordered oxycodone to her dental practice for her personal consumption.
Ms. Letizia was arrested in September 2020.
For her conduct, Ms. Letizia paid the United States a $100,000 civil penalty. As part of her probation sentencing, she was also ordered to undergo drug treatment and pay a $5,000 fine, according to the Justice Department.
Ms. Letizia surrendered her Drug Enforcement Administration registration and is prohibited from re-applying for a new one. She also surrendered her New York State medical license, the Justice Department reported.
