Former Texas Dental Association President Dr. Hilton Israelson dies

Hilton Israelson, DDS, former president of the Texas Dental Association and trustee of the American Dental Association, passed away on May 19, according to a May 24 news release from the ADA.

Dr. Israelson was a periodontist who had served the Dallas area since 1981. He was also a past president of the Dallas County Dental Society.

To help educate and train dental assistants, he founded the Dallas County Dental Society Dental Assisting School.

Dr. Israelson also served as a clinical instructor of periodontics at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston from 1977 to 1979, assistant clinical professor at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas from 1979 to 1989 and associate clinical professor at Texas A&M from 1989 to 2000.
