A Georgia man is facing charges after a woman was injured in a dental practice shooting, Classic City News reported Dec. 5.

Carl Eugene Clark, 74, allegedly shot 47-year-old Sheila Mobley at McRae Family Dental in Athens, Ga., during the early morning hours of Dec. 1. The shooting took place before the practice opened, and Ms. Mobley was the only person injured during the shooting.

Ms. Mobley, who is reportedly an employee at the dental office, remains hospitalized from her injuries.

Mr. Clark allegedly fled town after the shooting and later shot himself during a police traffic stop. He was hospitalized and released Dec. 4.

While the police have not disclosed a motive, they characterized the incident as an act of domestic violence. Mr. Clark is being held without bail on charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
