Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed House Bill 915, which added nearly $5.5 billion in spending for the remaining three months of the state’s current budget. The money will cover various needs throughout the state, including the new dental school.
In January, Gov. Kemp proposed putting $178 million toward construction of a dental school at the university to alleviate the state’s healthcare workforce shortages.
Georgia State University will receive that amount for its dental school, according to the legislation.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
