Central Jersey Medical Center experienced a data security incident that impacted its dental servers.
Central Jersey Medical Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center with several locations throughout New Jersey. The organization provides primary care, dental and preventive health services.
According to a notice on the FQHC’s website, an unauthorized third party gained access to its dental servers’ network Aug. 25 and downloaded ransomware to encrypt certain files.
Some of the data affected includes demographic information, Social Security numbers, dental record numbers, health insurance information, dental treatment history and billing information.
CJMC confirmed financial accounts and payment information were not affected.
The organization’s electronic medical record system was not involved in the incident.
