OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill., was recently approved to receive $2 million in federal funding to support the development of a pediatric dental surgery clinic, WMBD Radio reported Sept. 8.
The Dental Surgery Center will cost a total of $5 million to complete, with the remaining $3 million coming from the hospital. The clinic is expected to open in about 18 months.
Mike Wells, president of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, said the clinic will cut down wait times for patients and allow them to receive care locally instead of traveling to other cities.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
