Illinois hospital opens oral surgery center

Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill., recently opened its Oral & Maxillofacial Head and Neck Associates center, The Reporter reported Jan. 28.

The new center includes five physicians who will treat patients who have suffered facial injuries or who are dealing with deformities. One of those physicians is Mohammed Qaisi, DMD, MD, who was part of the second team in the U.S. to perform the “Fibula Jaw in Day” surgical technique. 

The center will perform certain surgeries, while other advanced care will take place at other medical centers, according to Amela Rozajac, a consultant for the center.
