While Mayberry Orthodontics was closed, a tool was found leaking inside the practice for days. The leak was finally discovered Feb. 21.
“As I opened the door, I stepped into a couple inches of water and heard rainfall coming from inside the office,” Stephen Perdziola, acting CEO of the National Association of EMS Educators, told WTAE. “Immediately called the fire department, and called the landlord and said, ‘We need to get into emergency mode here, we have some major disaster in the office.'”
The fire department arrived on the scene to vacuum the water. However, it remains unclear when the businesses and dental practice will reopen.
