An Iowa dentist has agreed to surrender his license after being accused of stealing a patient’s prescription drugs, the Iowa Capital Dispatch reported Dec. 31.
The Iowa Dental Board charged Robert Bruce Cochrane, DDS, in November with unlawfully possessing or attempting to obtain controlled substances during a patient appointment.
Dr. Cochrane admitted no wrongdoing but agreed to surrender his license as part of a settlement deal with the state board.
Dr. Cochrane has faced several drug-related charges in the past, including those for alleged substance abuse and diverting controlled substances.
Dr. Cochrane will be able to seek reinstatement of his license after one year.
