An Iowa dentist has agreed to surrender his license as part of a settlement agreement with the Iowa Dental Board.
The state dental board accused Corey Jerrod Williams, DMD, of failing to maintain a satisfactory standard of competency, according to board records. The board launched an investigation after receiving a complaint from a patient who accused Dr. Williams of extracting the wrong tooth. The board allegedly found that standards of care were not met for several patients.
Dr. Williams may apply for license reinstatement after one year.
