Louisiana dentist earns distinguished service award

Ghali Ghali, DDS, MD, was recently given the Distinguished Service Award from the Louisiana Dental Association, the Bossier Press-Tribune reported April 26.

The dental agency presents the award to member dentists who exemplify the highest standards of professional conduct and make extraordinary contributions to the industry and their community.

Dr. Ghali has been a member of the American Dental Association, the LDA and the

Northwest Louisiana Dental Association for 37 years. He is an adviser to the state Board of Dentistry and represents the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons at ADA events and on the American College of Surgeons Board of Governors. He has served as chancellor of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and maintains active memberships in 25 dental, medical, surgical and hospital organizations.

Dr. Ghali has traveled to India for the past 18 years to provide services to people with cleft lips and palates and oral, head and neck cancer. He also organizes dental clinics in Louisiana for underprivileged residents.
