A Michigan dentist is facing multiple charges related to a Medicaid fraud scheme.

Faddi Salim, DDS, allegedly billed the state Medicaid program for dental crowns that were never provided.

The Michigan attorney general’s office said April 3 that it learned of the case after several patients were billed for crowns under their insurance plans and were told the crowns wouldn’t be covered due to their annual benefits being exhausted.

The attorney general’s office encouraged patients who believe they were billed for services that weren’t provided to file a report.

Dr. Salim was charged March 19 with one count of conducting a criminal enterprise and 131 counts of Medicaid fraud. He was granted a $50,000 personal recognizance bond and will appear in court again May 1.
