Michigan dentist places own implant using Yomi robot

Bruce Smoler, DDS, owner of Smoler Smiles in Westland, Mich., completed his own implant procedure using the Yomi Robotic Dental System.

The Yomi robot uses minimally invasive and autonomous technology to assist dentists with implants and is the only FDA approved robot-assisted dental surgery system in the U.S., according to an Aug. 2 news release.

The device is designed to be minimally invasive and increase precision as well as accelerate a patient’s healing time.
