A federally qualified health center in Michigan has secured $2.9 million in state funding to resume providing dental services.
Northwest Michigan Health Services launched a community dental clinic in September 2023, but was forced to close in January 2026 due to increased operating costs, according to a Sept. 18 news release from Michigan House Republicans.
With the funding, the organization will expand its current facility to add additional exam rooms and operatories.
State Rep. John Roth secured the funding for Northwest Michigan Health Services, the release said.
Northwest Michigan Health Services has four locations in the state, according to its website.
