A mistrial was recently declared in the trial for a Virginia woman charged with practicing unlicensed dentistry, WAVY reported March 3.

Cristina Caro-Valencia is facing multiple charges of practicing dentistry without a license. On the second day of the trial, a member of the jury informed the judge, prosecutors and Ms. Caro-Valencia’s lawyer that another juror admitted to searching for information on the case online. This led the judge to declare a mistrial and release the jurors.

A new trial date will be set later this month, WAVY reported.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
