More adults taking oral health more seriously: Report

There are more adults in the U.S. in 2024 who are motivated to practice preventive oral healthcare compared to 2023, according to a report from Delta Dental.

More than 90% of adults said that saving money and avoiding unforeseen dental costs is a key reason for them to maintain their oral health, up from 87% last year. 

About three-quarters of adults cited preventing oral issues including cavities, gum disease and tooth decay is a main motivator, an increase from 66% in 2023. 

In 2022, 78% of adults who visited the dentist went for preventive care. In 2023, that percentage rose to 83%.
