Family 1st Dental recently closed its offices in Plainview and Creighton, Neb., The Plainview News reported Nov. 21.
The practice reportedly began searching for a replacement dentist for its Plainview office more than a year ago after learning one of its dentists would be relocating to Georgia. Emily Rutledge, the practice’s recruitment coordinator, told The Plainview News that the practice has visited dental schools and utilized a national recruitment company but has been unable to secure a dentist to keep the office open.
The practice has also had dentists from other offices traveling to fill the position temporarily, but it has become unsustainable.
Ms. Rutledge added that the practice placed the office for sale but was unable to close a deal.
The practice also closed its office in Creighton, Neb., but it is unclear if this closure was for the same reason.
Family 1st Dental has 18 locations throughout Nebraska and Iowa.
