William Gardner, DDS, is accused of submitting fraudulent claims to insurance companies while his dental license was suspended. Dr. Gardner has denied the allegations, but turned himself in to a local jail and was released shortly after in early October, according to KRQE. His attorneys filed a motion Dec. 6 to dismiss the indictment, claiming the dentist never got proper notice of the investigation, KRQE reports.
The board has given Dr. Garder time turn in his license so he can refer his patients to licensed dentists for uninterrupted dental care, Priscilla Garcia, director of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Board, told KRQE.
Dr. Gardner also must pay over $4,000 to cover the licensing board’s proceedings against him.
