Bronsky Orthodontics, an orthodontic practice located in New York City, experienced a data incident impacting more than 3,000 individuals, according to a June 2 report from The HIPAA Journal

On October 16, 2025, the practice identified suspicious activity within an employee’s email account. Following an investigation, it was determined that a limited number of email accounts were accessed by an unknown actor between August and October.

Patient information such as names, dates of birth, financial account information, Social Security numbers, driver’s licenses and treatment information were potentially affected.

The practice reported the incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights on May 8, 2026.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
