North Carolina dental practice 1st in region to use implant robot

Carolina Dental Specialty Center in Jacksonville, N.C., is the first practice in the eastern part of the state to use the Yomi Robotic Dental System, NBC affiliate WITN reported July 19.

The Yomi Robotic Dental System is the only FDA-cleared robot-assisted dental surgery system in the U.S.

The owner and lead dentist of Carolina Dental Specialty Center, Jose Arauz, DMD, has performed more than 300 surgeries using the robot, according to WITN.

The robot cost the practice $250,000, WITN reported.
