Valleygate Dental Surgery Center in Greensboro, N.C., was ordered to close six rooms after an inspection discovered several violations, WGHP reported Sept. 10.
During a Sept. 4 inspection, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services found issues with a renovation project that was completed at the facility in July.
The department issued a cease and desist letter Sept. 9, which ordered the closure of three new procedure rooms and three new recovery bays until the state’s findings were addressed.
Twenty-three compliance issues were listed in the report, including wiring and piping issues, building code violations and leaks. The inspection also found that the nurse’s emergency call system was missing from the rooms and that the oxygen system was not connected to a backup power source.
The practice is still able to see patients because the order only applies to the renovated rooms.
