Precision Endodontics of Raleigh suffered an email breach that exposed certain patient information.
That practice said that on June 10 it discovered that its email account had been accessed by an unknown entity and that phishing emails were sent to a small portion of its contact list.
The practice said in a notice on its website that the information accessed includes patients’ full names and email addresses, but that there is currently no evidence to suggest that the information has been misused.
The incident was submitted to the HHS Department’s Office for Civil Rights Breach Portal Aug. 5. The submission states that 4,022 individuals were affected by the incident.
