Orthodontics in the news: 4 updates

Here are four updates on the orthodontics specialty dating since July 1:

1. Frisco, Texas-based Bond Orthodontic Partners, an orthodontic-focused DSO, expanded into Idaho with the addition of two practices.

2. Clear aligner company SmileDirectClub agreed to modify its advertising claims based on recommendations from the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau National Programs after being hit with challenges by two competitors. 

3. Georgetown, Texas-based Smile Doctors, an orthodontic-focused DSO, expanded with 20 dental practice additions in the second quarter of 2022.

4. Michael Lozman, DDS, of Lozman Orthodontics in Latham, N.Y., was appointed July 1 to the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad by President Joe Biden.
