There were 13 recipients of the winter 2022 Dr. Carolyn Ghazal Dental Assistant Scholarship, which is named after Carolyn Ghazal, DDS, a member of the foundation’s board of directors.
In 2022, the foundation awarded more than $276,000 in scholarships to 57 recipients and has given out more than $1.1 million since 2016, according to a Jan. 26 news release from the Pacific Dental Services Foundation.
The scholarships are awarded quarterly and help to cover the cost of tuition expenses. Recipients are chosen based on their financial need, heart for service, career aspirations and other criteria, the release said.
