Dentists and hygienists provided cleanings, fillings and extractions for free to patients on a first-come, first-served basis. Patients could request one of the three services.
In the line, patients waited with blankets, fold-up lawn chairs and other comfort items to hold their place in line. The free care was provided through the Dentistry from the Heart program, a nonprofit that provides free dental care on a global scale.
