Pennsylvania health clinic sees 21% increase in new dental patients

The Jean B. Purvis Community Health Center in Butler, Pa., saw a 21% increase in new dental patients between 2023 and 2024, according to the center’s annual report.

Five notes: 

1. The Community Health Center has provided care to uninsured and under-insured patients for the last 13 years, including dental care, behavioral care, medical care, dermatology and vision care. 

2. Overall, the center saw a 32.5% jump in patients visits. 

3. The clinic’s seven dentists served 650 patients in 2024, totaling $224,930 worth of dental services.

4. The clinic brought in 139 new dental patients, and experienced a 4.3% increase in dental services.

5. The bulk of dental services provided last year consisted of X-rays, exams, fillings and oral cancer screenings.
