Robbery at California dental office leaves dentist assaulted: 5 things to know

A surveillance video shows a suspected robbery at a Van Nuys, Calif.-based dental office, according to Fox 11.

Here are five things to know:

1. Police suspect the assailant entered the practice at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 30. When the office manager entered the office, the suspect went to the back of the practice.

2. Dressed in a lab coat, surgical mask, protective eyewear and latex gloves, the suspect started removing property from the practice.

3. When the dentist entered the practice, he confronted the intruder in the dental examination room. Armed with sharp tools, the suspect assaulted the dentist.

4. The suspect fled the practice after staff heard the struggle between the dentist and the assailant.

5. The dentist suffered minor contusions and refused treatment. Police are asking community members to come forward with any information on the suspect.
