The Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs has sent out another warning about phone scammers impersonating government officials.
The scammers are targeting medical professionals, particularly dentists, trying to obtain professional information, according to a March 31 news release.
Individuals have been pretending to be state officials contacting current and former dental license holders, claiming that their license is under investigation.
The department has recently received reports of these phone scams.
A similar warning was issued to dentists in November.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
