The ADA released results in August after surveying dentists throughout the country about their participation in CHIP. Below is a ranking of the states based on how many of their dentists participate in the program:

1. Iowa: 77.6 percent
2. North Dakota: 73.6 percent
3. Montana: 73.1 percent
4. Alabama: 72.3 percent
5. Delaware: 71.8 percent
6. Vermont: 70.6 percent
7. Michigan: 70.4 percent
8. Mississippi: 66.3 percent
9. Wyoming: 65.6 percent
10. Arkansas: 61 percent
11. Alaska: 60.7 percent
12. New Mexico: 60.6 percent
13. Colorado: 59.9 percent
14. West Virginia: 59 percent
15. Minnesota: 58.7 percent
16. South Dakota: 58.4 percent
17. Nebraska: 58.1 percent
18. Texas: 57.3 percent
19. Indiana: 56.6 percent
20. Kentucky: 50.3 percent
21. Massachusetts: 48.5 percent
22. Connecticut: 45.1 percent
23. Pennsylvania: 44.9 percent
24. Idaho: 44.5 percent
25. Nevada: 43.6 percent
