The Temple University Kornberg School of Medicine is planning a dental clinic and education center in Tamaqua, Pa.
The rural dental center will host 10 third-year and fourth-year dental students, who will be supervised by licensed dentists, according to a Feb. 4 news release from the university.
Rural populations often have the worst access to dental care, with 40% of adults in rural areas not having visited a dentist in the past year, according to a report from the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health.
The university’s Board of Trustees recently approved the location, which is set to open in the fall.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
